Cloud accounting is the best and easiest for everyone. We would have usernames and passwords, as if we was an employee. There are huge benefits in operating in this way. Scanned documents sent across to us via our secure platform (SSL) accessible via a username / password is very easy to use. When accessed you have two default folders, one says "TO" and the other "FROM" - that's work you want to send TO us, and work you receive FROM us, couldn't be more simpler. All we ask is a simple email to your dedicated Fellow Chartered Accountant to say what's in there, what needs to be done, any preferential order etc....as you would with a member of your team. Remote access, server to server - this is a very secure way in which to operate if you have a dedicated PC in your office that we can access. This isn't our preferred way as there will always be a slight delay which means jobs will take slightly longer, whereas the scanned documents means we can operate quicker.
Prime documents - we all have those customers who no matter what will not take ownership and digitise their own paperwork to help themselves to help you, which in turn will help the both of us. We are, due to the core of our business, set up to take these if needed. It's not our preferred way for other UK Practices as we want the best slickest process possible, but we are set up, and have a process around taking them.
